Network Scan FAQ
How do I see who is on my Wi-Fi?
Connect your iPhone to the network, allow Local Network access, and start a scan. Network Scan shows responding devices, likely device types, services, and open ports.
Why does an unknown device appear?
Some devices advertise very little information or use generic hostnames. Open the device details to inspect services and ports, then assign a custom name if you recognize it.
Can it show every device's MAC address?
No. iOS limits access to arbitrary MAC addresses. Network Scan reports only information the platform can obtain honestly and reliably.
Can I SSH into any discovered device?
Only devices running an SSH server for which you have valid credentials. Network Scan is intended for systems you own or administer.
Where are saved SSH credentials stored?
On the iPhone in iOS Keychain. They are used only for connections you initiate and can be forgotten from the app at any time.
